Whether you’re dealing with a flat or just looking to upgrade your tires for better performance, this step-by-step guide will help you through the process quickly and safely. First, ensure you have the right tools for the job: a set of tire levers, a new inner tube or tire, a wrench (if your e-bike has bolt-on wheels), and a pump.
Step 1: Turn Off Your E-Bike
Before starting any maintenance work, make sure your electric bike is turned off, and the battery is disconnected if possible. This is a safety precaution to prevent any accidental activation of the motor.
Step 2: Remove the Wheel
For a rear wheel, you may need to handle the chain and navigate around the motor hub. Shift the gears to the smallest cog to ease removal. Release the brake mechanism if required. Use your wrench to loosen the nuts or quick-release lever, then lift the bike and remove the wheel.
