Electric bikes have revolutionized urban commuting and leisure rides by providing an eco-friendly alternative to traditional transportation. One of the most frequent questions from new and prospective e-bike riders is: How long does an electric bike charge last?
The lifespan of an e-bike charge can vary significantly depending on several factors, including the battery capacity (measured in watt-hours), the type of terrain you are riding on, the rider’s weight, the level of pedal-assist used, and even the weather conditions.
Most modern electric bikes come equipped with lithium-ion batteries, which have a range of anywhere from 25 to 70 miles on a single charge. The exact range will heavily depend on the battery's capacity; for instance, a 300Wh battery might only provide a 25-mile range, while a 700Wh battery can offer rides up to 70 miles, or even more in some cases.
Riding mode impacts the battery life as well. If you’re using the highest level of pedal-assistance or the throttle function frequently, you’re likely to get fewer miles out of your battery compared to someone who uses a lower assist level or cycles part of the way without any assistance.
