Comparing the Fluid Freeride CityRider and Segway Ninebot ES2 Electric Scooters
When it comes to electric scooters, the Fluid Freeride CityRider and Segway Ninebot ES2 stand among the best. However, these two differ in several key ways. The CityRider is slightly more powerful, boasting a 300W motor against the ES2's 250W one, which results in a marginally higher top speed (18.6 mph vs. 15.5 mph). The CityRider also wins tug-of-war when it comes to range with a commendable 10 to 12 miles compared to ES2's 9 miles. Charging times are comparable, about 3 to 4 hours from a complete discharge for both.
One area where the ES2 shines is portability; it weighs less (27.6 lbs vs 28.7 lbs) and is foldable, making it more commuter-friendly. The ES2 also provides more versatile driving settings, with a standard and sport mode. It has a robust app that allows firmware update, scooter lock/unlock, speed limit setting, etc, unlike the CityRider.
Both have a solid build, equipped with front and rear lights and digital displays, but the ES2 has added features such as under-glow lights and an option to attach an extra battery for increased range. In contrast, the CityRider offers a more comfortable ride with its 8.5-inch pneumatic tires compared to ES2's 7.5-inch hard rubber tires.
In terms of price, the CityRider is more affordable compared to the ES2. Overall, the best choice between the two depends on personal preferences and needs.
