Scooter Foundation

The Scooter Foundation is a Milwaukee-based non-profit dedicated to preventing gun violence and promoting peaceful conflict resolution, born from the vision of founder Susan Schmidt following the loss of her brother, Scott "Scooter" Schmidt. The organization operates Scooter's Garden of Hope, a transformative community space on Buffum Street created in collaboration with local youth and artists that serves as both a memorial and beacon of hope for the neighborhood. Through education, youth engagement, and community-driven initiatives, the foundation turns tragedy into inspiration and empowers Milwaukee residents to build a more peaceful future.
