Comparing the Anyhill UM-1 vs Xiaomi Mi M365: Battle of the Electric Scooters
In the electric scooter industry, two models that have managed to build a reputation for themselves are the Anyhill UM-1 and the Xiaomi Mi M365. Despite sharing similar electric scooter traits, both brands offer unique features that either could be attractive to potential users.
Firstly, when it comes to speed and range, Xiaomi Mi M365 reigns supreme. With a top speed of 15.5 mph and a maximum range of 18.6 miles, it is slightly more powerful than the Anyhill UM-1, which has a top speed of 15 mph and a maximum range of 18 miles. This difference may seem insignificant but could be a deciding factor for those seeking a longer or faster ride.
Moreover, the Xiaomi M365 has a unique energy recovery system that turns kinetic energy into electrical power for extended battery life, a feature that the Anyhill UM-1 does not have. This could mean fewer charging interruptions on longer journeys for Xiaomi users.
The Anyhill UM-1, on the other hand, distinguishes itself with a stronger motor (350W compared to Xiaomi’s 250W). This could mean better performance on challenging terrains and uphill rides, offering an advantage to users from hilly areas.
As for comfort, the Anyhill UM-1 takes the lead with its 10-inch tires, providing better shock absorption than the Xiaomi Mi M365's 8.5-inch tires. The UM-1 also boasts a wider deck allowing for greater foot space, which can lead to a more comfortable ride.
In terms of design, both are stylish with a minimalistic and sleek look. However, the Xiaomi Mi M365 possesses an electronic braking system and an impressive dual braking system whereas, the Anyhill UM-1 has a disk brake system.
Both the Anyhill UM-1 and the Xiaomi Mi M365 are easy to fold and carry. Yet, the UM-1 is slightly heavier weighing 30 lbs against Mi M365’s 26.9 lbs, which might affect portability, particularly for commuters.
Overall, the choice between the Anyhill UM-1 and the Xiaomi Mi M365 might largely depend on personal preference, the need for comfort, motor power, or range.
