Comparing the GOTRAX GMAX Ultra and Unagi Model One (E500): Which Scooter Triumphs?
Two popular choices in the electric scooter market today are the GOTRAX GMAX Ultra and the Unagi Model One (E500). Each scooter appeals to consumers for different reasons, primarily because of their contrasting features.
Starting with the GOTRAX GMAX Ultra, one of its major selling points is its robust, high-capacity battery, supporting a range of up to 45 miles, compared to Unagi's 15.5 miles. This extended range makes the GMAX Ultra an excellent option for long commuting or exploring. However, the Unagi Model One boasts a spectacular carbon fiber and magnesium alloy body (making it very lightweight, at just 26.5 lbs) compared to the 36 lbs GMAX Ultra.
Another significant point of comparison is the scooter’s speed and power. The GMAX Ultra has an 800W motor that can reach up to 20 mph. In contrast, the Model One has a dual 250W motors and can also reach up to 20mph, surprisingly offering a similar speed despite the smaller motor.
Regarding portability, the Model One shines with its sleek design and one-click fold system, while the GMAX Ultra doesn’t fold at all, which might be an issue for storage and portability.
While both scooters feature durable 10-inch tires for comfort and safety, the Unagi includes additional safety features like LED headlights and brake lights. The GMAX Ultra only has a headlight and no tail/ brake light.
In terms of price point, the GOTRAX GMAX Ultra is more cost-effective when compared to the more premium-priced Unagi Model One (E500).
Therefore, both models have their strengths. If range and cost-effectiveness are crucial for you, the GOTRAX GMAX could be your ideal choice. Alternatively, if weight, portability, and a sleek design hold more sway, the Unagi Model One (E500) won't disappoint.
