Near the top of the electric scooter market stand two powerful models: the Segway Ninebot ES4 and the Xiaomi Mi M365. Both scooters offer a convenient mode of transport for urban dwellers, but they each exhibit distinctive characteristics that set them apart.
Starting with speed and range, the Segway Ninebot ES4 holds a slight edge over the Xiaomi Mi M365. The Ninebot ES4 boasts a top speed of 18.6 mph and maximum range of 28 miles, compared to the Mi M365's 15.5 mph speed and 18.6 miles range.
Battery life varies between the two models, with the Ninebot ES4 featuring a larger external battery extending its range. The Xiaomi Mi M365, conversely, doesn't support an extra battery, but its eco-mode helps to conserve power for longer commutes.
Onto the build and design, both scooters illuminate paths with LED lights, but only the Ninebot ES4 has customizable ambient light colors. Aesthetically, the Ninebot ES4 is slightly bulkier due to the external battery attached to the stem. The Mi M365, on the other hand, exudes a minimalistic, sleek design with a battery housed in the board itself.
Suspension system is where the Ninebot ES4 shines, providing smoother rides over uneven terrain with its dual suspension. The Xiaomi Mi M365 lacks a significant suspension system, which makes it less comfortable on rough surfaces.
Both offer superior braking systems, but the Xiaomi Mi M365 pulls ahead with its dual braking (regenerative and disc braking) system providing a slightly shorter stopping distance.
Price-wise, the Ninebot ES4 is typically slightly more expensive than the Xiaomi Mi M365, mirroring its additional features. It’s important to consider these differences to make a decision that best matches your commute and budget expectations.
