The search for the perfect electric scooter can be an overwhelming task with so many brands and models out there. Today we delve into two popular scooters on the market: the Segway Ninebot Max and the Apollo Light. The Segway Ninebot Max prides itself on its 65km range, 30km/h top speed, and 15% hill grade, making it a robust, long-distance scooter fit for both urban and slightly hilly terrains. It boasts a built-in charger for convenience and can withstand a maximum load of 100kg. The Apollo Light, on the other hand, is a compact and light model emphasising portability and versatility. It promises speeds up to 35km/h with a range of 35km, perfect for city commuters. It also handles a 15% hill grade but can only carry up to 100kg. A notable difference is the weight; Apollo Light is significantly lighter at around 17kg compared to the sturdy 19.1kg Ninebot Max. Both models offer front and rear lights, but only the Ninebot Max includes brake lights. However, the Apollo Light compensates by offering dual spring suspensions, ensuring smoother rides than the Ninebot Max, which only offers rear hub motor and an upfront spring.
