Unagi Model One (E500) Vs Segway Ninebot E45: A Detailed Comparison
The Unagi Model One (E500) and the Segway Ninebot E45 are two of the leading electric scooters on the market. While both offer excellent features, there are key differences to be noted. The Unagi has a unique style with its sleek aesthetic and carbon fiber composition, while the Segway is more robust, built to handle longer journeys.
In terms of speed, the Unagi maxes out at 20 mph, faster than the Segway's 18.6 mph. Furthermore, Unagi offers a dual motor for increased power, useful in hilly terrains. On the downside, it has a slightly shorter range. Unagi can travel for 15.5 miles compared to Segway's 28 miles range, making the latter a better option for long-range commuters.
Another important distinction lies within their braking systems. Unagi uses an electronic and friction braking system while Segway employs electric and mechanical brakes, which some riders might find more reassuring.
Finally, while the Ninebot E45 is a bit heavier at 36.4 lbs compared to Unagi's featherweight 26.5 lbs, it does come with a built-in front, side, and rear LED Lights system, a feature Unagi lacks.
In a nutshell, if you prioritize range, lighting, and having a robust mechanical brake, opt for Ninebot E45. If style, weight, and raw power are your preferences, the Unagi Model One E500 would be the optimal choice.
