Zero 9 vs Hiboy S2R Electric Scooters: A Comparative Review
When considering the purchase of a new electric scooter, the two options that often come to mind are the Zero 9 and the Hiboy S2R. Though they share some similarities, they also differ in many aspects.
To start, the Zero 9 possesses a stronger motor of 600W, compared to Hiboy's weaker 350W motor. This gives the Zero 9 a speed advantage, reaching a top speed of 27 mph, whereas the Hiboy S2R peaks at a much slower 18.6 mph.
However, where Hiboy S2R falls short in speed, it tries to make up in distance, boasting an impressive range of 17 miles on a single charge compared to Zero 9's 28 miles. The S2R does have a longer total travel distance when operating at slower speeds or on flat surfaces.
Additionally, the Zero 9 features space-saving folding, a significant advantage for users who have limited storage space or require public transportation. On the other hand, the Hiboy S2R has straightforward assembly, but lacks a folding feature.
When it comes to riding comfort, both brands cater relatively well. Zero 9 uses air-filled tires combined with front and rear suspension. In comparison, the S2R boasts its solid rubber tires and a dual suspension system, which does a fairly good job at absorbing shocks and ensuring a smooth ride.
Lastly, the build of the Zero 9 seems a bit more rugged and durable, offering IP54 water resistance level, while the Hiboy S2R hasn't specified its water resistance. Overall, each scooter has its strengths and weaknesses, and the right choice largely depends on the prospective owner's specific needs and preferences.
