How to Change an Electric Scooter Tire: A Step-by-Step Guide

Electric scooters have rapidly grown in popularity over the past few years as an efficient, eco-friendly, and fun mode of transportation. Just like any other vehicle, electric scooters require regular maintenance, including changing the tires when they become worn or damaged. This article will guide you through the process of how to change an electric scooter tire so you can get back on the road safely and efficiently.

Step 1: Gather Your Tools
Before you begin the tire-changing process, make sure you have the following items:

• Replacement tire


• Tire levers or a flat-head screwdriver


• Wrench or ratchet set


• Air pump


• Rags or gloves

Step 2: Removing the Old Tire

• Ensure your electric scooter is switched off and the kickstand is down for stability.


• Depending on your scooter model, you may need to remove a retaining clip, screw, or bolt to release the wheel. Use the appropriate tool to loosen and remove the hardware securing the wheel.


• Carefully lift the wheel off the scooter, making sure not to damage the motor cable or brake components.

Step 3: Deflating and Removing the Damaged Tire

• If the tire is still inflated, release any remaining air by pressing the valve with a tire lever, screwdriver, or your fingers.
